Private Pay Home Care in Margate
Organised and settled by the household itself. Two numbers decide everything here, and you get both of them during the opening telephone call.
Why the money comes first
Families are rarely nervous about the care. They are nervous about the invoice, and about committing to something whose size they cannot yet picture. So the money goes first in every conversation at this office.
Two numbers do most of the work. What an hour costs, and how short a visit we are willing to send somebody out for. Between them they fix what a fortnight comes to, and a fortnight is a far more useful thing to budget than a year.
The rest is deliberately loose. Nothing is committed beyond the coming week, and the size of the arrangement is altered by voice whenever the household changes.
Everything this office arranges is privately paid. There is no eligibility test, no waiting list and no third party deciding what a household is allowed.
That makes the family the client in a quite literal sense, and it is why hours, days and names can all be changed on a telephone call.
How the charging works
Spoken aloud, every figure, before anybody drives over.
Two numbers on the opening call
An hourly rate and the smallest visit this office will travel for, said without anybody asking twice.
A different hour, a different rate
Sitting and talking is charged below hands-on work, and a mixed visit is charged for what it actually mixed.
Weekly rather than annual
Nothing is committed past the coming week, and either side may stop with fair warning.
Altered by voice
Up after a rough spell, down once it steadies, suspended altogether while family are in town.
Invoices that match the notes
You are charged for visits that happened, each with its written note sitting behind the line.
The introduction is unbilled
That first meeting never reaches an invoice and nothing is put in front of anybody to sign.

Budget a fortnight first
Ask what fourteen days would come to. It is a number families can actually picture, which an annual figure never is.
